Throughout the month of October, KirkWood Presbyterian Church is holding its annual pumpkin patch fundraiser.
Each year, the church delights the community with a wide variety of pumpkins in all shapes, sizes and colors. The patch is decorated in charming fall decorations, giving families that “farm-like” photo opportunity without ever having to leave York County.
While the church does have suggested pricing for the pumpkins, they only charge what someone can afford. The best part is that 100 percent of the proceeds collected go directly toward church missions both domestic and abroad, including anything from disaster relief to purchasing supplies in order to build wheelchair ramps for people in the community.
On Halloween night, KirkWood Presbyterian Church also offers a wonderful alternative to door-to-door trick-or-treating by transforming the wooded area adjacent to the church into a magical Enchanted Forest. Church members dress in family-friendly costumes and hand out candy along the beautifully decorated path. Games and activities are set up along the church grounds and inside the building that are both family-friendly and seasonally appropriate.
The church is located at 1209 Hampton Highway. For more information, call KirkWood Presbyterian Church’s main office at 766-0343.
