The deadline to register to vote was Oct. 15.
Deadline to apply for absentee ballot by mail: Oct. 29.
Deadline to apply for absentee ballot in person: 5 p.m. Nov. 2.
Some of the acceptable reasons for obtaining an absentee ballot:
- Personal business or vacation outside the county on Election Day (just provide place of travel)
- Commuting to/working from another locality outside the county for more than 11 hours on Election Day (just provide name of employer and hours worked)
- Business outside the county on Election Day (just provide name of employer or business)
- Disability, illness or pregnancy (no documentation required)
- Religious obligation (no documentation required)
- College student (just provide name of institution)
Voter Registrar’s Office:
County Administration Center, 224 Ballard St., County Administration Center, Yorktown — 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Washington Square, 5322 George Washington Memorial Highway, Yorktown — 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
