York County Commissioner of the Revenue Ann Thomas was honored at September’s 100th Annual Conference of the Commissioners of the Revenue Association by becoming one of the first localities in the commonwealth to achieve office accreditation.

The accreditation is awarded only to offices that have met the rigorous standards set forth by the association, including education requirements for the Commissioner and staff, customer service, personnel and ethics policies, as well as assessment methodology. Each office receiving accreditation underwent an audit to ensure compliance and will be required to annually demonstrate they continue to meet these standards.

“I am proud of my staff taking interest in education and their professionalism to earn the title of Master Deputy Commissioner of the Revenue,” Thomas said. “I, too, have earned the title of Master Commissioner of the Revenue. Accreditation is awarded each year only after you have passed a rigorous audit. I am honored to be one of the first Commissioners of the Revenue in the State of Virginia to be awarded this accreditation.”

It signifies that the York County Commissioner of the Revenue office has met the highest standards of professionalism as set forth by the Commissioners of the Revenue Association of Virginia.”
