York County Parks and Recreation is now located in Washington Square Shopping Center. This new site offers a central location for the county’s citizens with ample parking. The new offices are located in the section of the shopping center adjacent to Grafton Station Lane. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:15 a.m. to 5 p.m. The phone number remains 890-3500. Visitors to the new site will experience continued excellent customer service including assistance when registering for programs.

The location is close to the new site of the Voter Registration Office, which is just further down the shopping center from Parks and Recreation and just around the corner from the Senior Center of York.  Through the Nov. 5 election, citizens are able to visit the Voter Registration Office at the new location and at the office in historic Yorktown (224 Ballard St.). Hours of operation for the Voter Registration Office are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

In addition to the Parks and Recreation move, the offices of York-Poquoson Virginia Cooperative Extension are moving next door and planned to officially open Oct. 15.
