Police investigate pedestrian struck in York County

Virginia State Police is investigating a crash involving a pedestrian in York County.
It happened about 5:43 p.m. Friday, according to a press release from Virginia State Police. The driver of a 2015 Nissan Altima was traveling westbound on Merrimac Trail approaching James York Plaza when the driver entered the left turn lane and struck a 59-year-old male who was walking in the middle of the road, against traffic.
The 59-year-old Williamsburg resident was flown to Medical College of Virginia with life-threatening injuries.
The crash is still under investigation.
