Polling place to move temporarily

The York County Electoral Board has received permission from the Virginia Board of Elections to temporarily relocate its polling place from the Grafton School Complex to the Registrar’s Office located at 5322 George Washington Memorial Highway in the Washington Square Shopping Center.

The change in location is necessitated by the closure of the school complex following the Feb. 3 fire.

“For voters who normally vote at the Grafton School Complex, the plan is to hold the March 3 Democratic Primary at the new Registrar’s Office located in Washington Square Shopping Center,” said Voter Registrar Walt Latham.

The Registrar’s Office is typically open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. On Tuesday, March 3, the office will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. for voters. If you are not sure if your polling place has been affected by this relocation, visit www.yorkcounty.gov/voting or call 890-3440.
