At least 254 people across Virginia have officially been diagnosed with COVID-19, according to new numbers released by the Virginia Department of Health on Monday.

That is a 16-percent increase from Sunday’s reported number of 219. The number has more than doubled since Friday.

About 3,697 people have been tested for the virus in Virginia. There have been 38 people hospitalized and six deaths associated with the virus.

The Peninsula Health District continues to have the largest number of cases of any health district in the state. There are 34 in James City County, five each in York County and Williamsburg and two in Newport News.
