Virginia cases surpass 1,000

Virginia surpassed 1,000 total cases of COVID-19 in Monday morning’s report from the Virginia Department of Health.
The current case total stands at 1,020, which is a 14.6-percent increase.
There have been 136 total hospitalizations and 25 deaths, according to the latest report. A total of 12,038 people have been tested.
Statewide, cases in those over 50 represent about 52 percent of all cases.
The Peninsula Health District reports 111 cases — 73 in James City County, 18 in Newport News, 11 in York County, seven in Williamsburg and two in Poquoson.
