Former York High School field hockey standout Bentley Zabicki was invited to compete in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association senior game.
All three divisions of NCAA field hockey have a senior game that features the top seniors in the country. The selected seniors are given the opportunity to represent their schools while also playing against peers. As a standout at Virginia Commonwealth University, Zabicki was selected to play in the NCAA Division I game. At the time of her selection, Zabicki had played in 66 games at VCU with 55 career starts.
VCU head coach Stacey Bean had this to say about her selection:
“I know I speak for everyone in our program when I say how excited we are that Bentley has been chosen to represent VCU in this game. It’s a well-deserved honor for a player who, day after day, has put in the work behind the scenes to help move this program forward,”
During her time at York, she scored 50 goals and recorded 28 assists. She was also recognized as an All-Conference, All-Region and All-State player during her time at York.
